The 2016 Toyota Prius offers a new platform, a revamped interior, and superb fuel economy. It comes powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors that combine to create an output of 121 horsepower and 105 pound-foot of torque. It comes paired to a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. The EPA has not released estimates on the 2016 Toyota Prius yet, but the previous generation averaged a combined 50 mpg. Typically, each new Toyota Prius generation has improved fuel efficiency by 10 percent, so the 2016 Toyota Prius is expected to average around 55 mpg combined.

Once inside, you’ll find that Toyota has completely refreshed and revamped the materials. Both the design and materials seem fresher and more refined, while also offering an increase of 2.4 inches in length and over a half an inch in width. It comes standard with 24.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, which can be folded down to increase the space. Tech features include a rearview camera, proximity key, push-button start, a USB port, voice command recognition, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Siri Eyes Free voice-controlled iPhone integration and a six-speaker sound system. It also will feature three display screens: a 6.1-inch touch screen that control the Entune infotainment system, and two 4.2-inch screens that sit side by side above the touch screen and serve as the information display for fuel economy, speed, and all other infotainment content.
