Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft have made taxi services nearly obsolete. With a simple arrangement via app, people can get a much-needed lift at a fraction of the cost. For many folks, working as an Uber or Lyft driver provides a stable source of income. Some car models provide an overall better experience for passengers. Which Toyota vehicles are optimal for ridesharing?
According to U.S. News & World Report, not one, not two, but three vehicles made its top nine list of Best Cars for Lyft and Uber Drivers.
The first is the 2018 Toyota Camry, which made a separate U.S. News listing for top-ranked midsize car. The 2018 model underwent a full redesign with a sportier look and comfier interior. The five-passenger sedan also has a roomy rear seating. Even though J.D. Power has yet to give the 2018 model a reliability rating, the 2017 model received a perfect score.
Next on the list is the 2018 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, which achieves 39 mpg on the highway, very impressive for a full-size sedan. The 2017 model earned a 4.5 out of five stars from J.D. Powers.
Finally, there is the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid. U.S. News rated this model as its top-ranked hybrid and electric car. J.D. Powers also gave last year’s model a perfect five out of five rating.
An honorable mention is the 2018 Toyota Prius, which earned a spot in Autotrader’s list of Seven Great Cars for an Uber Driver.
