Toyota is teaming up with Competitor Group, Inc. (CGI), the organizer of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series for the second year in a row in 2016. After last year’s wildly successful partnership, the Toyota brand will once again be the official vehicle of the marathon series and the title sponsor of the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series. The concert series is held in tandem with the races and features headline concert performances at the finish line festivals in each of the event cities. Ed Laukes, vice president, marketing, performance, and guest experience, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Inc., had this to say:

At Toyota, we look forward to continuing our relationship with Competitor Group and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. The first year of the partnership has been exceptional for the Toyota brand, and we look forward to cementing our place as the official automobile partner of a property that allows [us] to reach our guests on a personal level in so many different markets across the country.

The Toyota sponsorship allows Toyota to connect marathon runners with the brand’s innovative experience through onsite activations and digital media engagement. At pre-race Health and Fitness Expos, Toyota will host the “Toyota Ride and Drive” feature that gives marathon runners the exclusive opportunity to experience a new Toyota vehicle.

More than 600,000 runners participate in the marathon and half-marathon events held across the country. The musical themed raced have spearheaded an active lifestyle movement that provides entertainment for all types of people. Here at your Toyota dealers serving San Diego, Toyota Chula Vista, we’re proud to be associated with a brand that supports such causes. The 2016 San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon is held June 3-5, so head on down to support your local runner!
